The Therapist

Tanya Clair is a native of the Mid Hudson Valley of New York state. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art from Purchase College in 1997.

A lover of fine food and drink, she dedicated the next 20 years to learning the service industry from bottom to top, working her way from the everyday diners of New York to General Manager of one of the finest restaurants in Charlottesville, Virginia.

While Tanya was honing her service skills, her mother had been honing her skills as a massage therapist, and was now preparing to retire her impressive 25 year massage practice.

Tanya often thought she might love to practice massage, but never made the decision to pursue it seriously. After a nearly 25 year love affair with the service industry, Tanya finally decided to pursue massage as a second career.

She studied beside her mother as an apprentice for nearly 2 years before deciding to enroll in massage school and become Certified as a Massage Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Tanya’s mother was able to retire happily in 2011, knowing that her loyal clients were left in capable, well trained hands. Today her mother's massage practice remains fully intact and thriving in her daughter’s hands.

Tanya’s skills go beyond that of the average young massage therapist. In addition to the 2 years of apprenticeship, 768 hours of accredited training, Tanya personally received 20 plus years of regular therapeutic massage which is an impressive education in itself.

Tanya possesses a wealth of knowledge and an advanced skill set rarely seen in a young therapist fresh out of massage school. She also understands that your education never ends in this practice, and is always seeking to expand her understanding and further her training.
